the clinic

The practice of Physical Therapy is both a science and an art. Practitioners require a deep understanding of how the body moves, senses, and reacts. After practicing Physical Therapy for over 20 years I use the knowledge I have gained to help people move more efficiently and with less pain.

I started my practice because I wanted to work with my clients without the constraints of traditional Physical Therapy offices. That’s why all my appointments are one-on-one for a full hour; each and every appointment. I believe it is important to personally instruct and guide my clients in understanding their injuries and learning how to prevent future occurrences. Thus, I customize my treatment plans to complement all ability levels and lifestyles.

Raminder Dosanjh, Physical Therapist

I received my masters degree in Physical Therapy in 1996 from Western University in Pomona, CA. I have been fortunate to work with all levels of clients, from professional athletes to a 103 year old Grandma.  I bring the same passion to all of my clients regardless of age and fitness level. I believe we can all improve the way we move and feel with the right guidance and proper attitude.

I have been seeing Raminder on a regular basis for the past several years due to serious lower back and neck issues that are at times, agonizingly painful. The combination of Pilates and Physical Therapy that are Raminder’s specialties have the effect of keeping my pain to a minimum, and I honestly feel that he is the reason that I am upright and able to get through the day with relative ease. Thank you, Raminder. M.K.

I came to Raminder with a long history of low back pain after seeing several physical therapists and chiropractors. He diagnosed my problem accurately and taught me correct movement technique and form through core strength exercises on Pilates equipment. I now move easily and at last I have no more pain.

My husband came to him with a severe knee problem and through a series of strengthening exercises helped him avoid surgery. Later he fractured a vertebra in his mid back and once again Raminder helped him avoid surgery with weight bearing and core strengthening exercises. He has been a lifesaver for both of us.

From two grateful clients R.V. and P.V.

I have worked with Raminder intermittently for years to help with foot and gait problems, back problems (Pilates), neck problems, and most recently preventative balance therapy.  Last year four months before a long awaited trek in Bhutan, I severely dislocated my right elbow.  The orthopedist was pessimistic about my being able to do the trek. Raminder worked with me twice a week throughout my convalescence, even taking me out on a “field trip” to the Mountain View cemetery to practice my walking with poles.   My  orthopedist was awed by my progress, telling me that the level of strength and extension I achieved was far beyond what one could hope for in a 67 year old woman.

On the trek itself, the guide praised my strength and stamina, but told me my pace was slowed by difficulties with balance.  Hoping to remain active into my eighties, I again sought out Raminder this year for balance therapy and again, he’s been great:  creative, observant, skillful both in  body manipulations and in creating exercises for me to do at home.  He is both artist and scientist, creative and precise.  He is also a great teacher and coach.  I have a very low body IQ. Raminder has again and again found ways to explain things to me that most of the world would get the first time around, and patiently said “turn to your left” four times in a row as I once again turned to my right.  He calms anxieties, finds ways to encourage when I’m discouraged, increases motivation and spurs me on to the next step.  Also he is kind, good-natured, smart and funny, and as a side benefit, he is incredibly graceful himself.  It is a pleasure to watch him move.

In sum, Raminder has been one of my most important caregivers. When we began working together, foot problems kept me from walking farther than 1/2 mile. On Independence Day, 2015, I hiked from Stinson Beach to the summit of Mt Tamalpais and back again.  I cannot thank Raminder enough or recommend him more highly.

I was run over by a shuttle bus almost 10 years ago.  Given a 5 to 10 percent chance of surviving, I am still here to say I had the good fortune of being helped for the last six years by Raminder Dosanjh.  He has been my champion even when I balk at doing what is difficult for me.  He encourages me, he pushes me, he cares about me.  I have sent many friends and family members to him and everyone agrees with me.  He is wonderful!
